Product Liability Claims

What is product liability?

Defective/dangerous products cause many injuries every year in the U.S. "Product liability law," concerns laws related to who is responsible for defective/dangerous products, and is separate from ordinary injury law. Product Liability law often makes it easier for the injured to be awarded damages.

These laws are specifically related to manufacturers/sellers who put forth a defective product to a consumer. Responsibility for product issues that result in injury is held by sellers relevant to the distribution of that product. In shorthand, the law dictates that products meet the ordinary expectations of the consumer. When products have unexpected defects, the product does not meet ordinary expectations of a consumer.
